Dressing to Impress: How Manchester’s property sellers are benefiting from home staging

Home staging has become a popular method for sellers, estate agents and developers in London to increase the appeal of a property for sale and give it the ‘Wow Factor’ in order to achieve a faster sale for the best price. But can it be just as successful for the rest of the country?

The design team recently completed two projects in Cheadle and Didsbury which both sold on or over the asking price within a week of completing the furnishings. Both properties were three-bed semi-detached houses, marketed at £299,950 and £315,000. Working directly with the private developers of these period conversions on the advice of their respective selling agents, the design team created a look to suit the style, age and environment of each property. As a result, the Cheadle house had nine viewings and sold in just four days for full asking price whilst the Didsbury house sold at over the asking price.

"The brief was to appeal to high-net-worth individuals with families who expect quality and luxury at this end of the market. We achieved this by creating a luxurious contemporary scheme that accentuated and reflected the high specification of the property with the interior furnishings."


"We created a formal, balanced living room to the front of the property to frame the beautiful fireplace. Muted colours were used to form a calm interior, with colour pops on cushions and accessories to lift the space. Formal silver framed pictures and a large bold canvas created interest."


"The dining room was designed with a more muted feel using black and white prints. We installed a long bespoke 10-seater wenge table with beautiful high backed chairs and a feature mirror to create symmetry within the space to construct a more formal dining area."


"The bedrooms were all created to be individual but to still portray each room as a haven and retreat. For example, muted tones were selected for the light and airy master bedroom and colour pops appeared in all of the other rooms, which needed a lift."


"Other designs included the office were we wanted to create a bit of a bachelor pad by using dark, luxurious furniture with funky red and black accessories."
